Ro Adler is a Philadelphia-based interdisciplinary artist who makes paintings, prints, digital designs, large-scale protest art, and site-specific ecological art. Ro teaches, facilitates, develops art education programs, builds art for actions, and creates community projects that combine gardening, herbalism, fiber arts, and earthy ritual. Their work is about collective vision and the relationships between people and land.
Ro’s approach as a facilitator mirrors their artistic inquiry: it asks, what do we need to say, and how are we going to say it? How can we work together beautifully? What is the world we want to see, and how can we make it happen?
Ro’s art/work has been seen nationally at the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Kennedy Center; locally at Union Transfer, Icebox Project Space, Space 1026, and Fleisher Art Memorial. Most of all, it lives in the gardens, classrooms, telephone poles, and streets of Philadelphia.
